Characteristics of the Barbie
For those that have analyzed the doll, it is often said that the success of the doll can be traced to its relatively simple design, which makes it to be instantly recognizable as against some other dolls. Even though, there are various versions, a Barbie doll cannot be mistaken for another. This is especially true for those wide eyes, long hair, thin legs and the unique waist, all of which are just characteristic of the Barbie doll.
Ever since it was first released in 1959, the Barbie doll has ruled the doll world and even in this age of science and technology, is not showing any signs of handing over to another. However, as it is with all champions, it is quite normal and expected that the Barbie doll will not remain unchallenged. Throughout its course of history, it has contended with strong challenges from a variety of other dolls, especially the Bratz dolls.
